The first gallery directly below will show the building of the tall interior wall that divides the living area from the rest of the barn. Do to the size, we carefully planned it out so it would fit in with the original structure, as well as being aesthetically pleasing. 6 interior windows were added to allow natural light to brighten up the remainder of the barn, along with a 30ft fireplace to become the centerpiece of the room.
Originally we were going to keep the the roof framing visible, seeing that it was already insulated on the outside, but we weren't happy with how the wood colors clashed.

Instead of trying to clean, seal and paint the entire ceiling. We decided it would be more beneficial and somewhat easier, to add more insulation and cover with tongue and groove.
We started in the loft area, to get a good idea of the whole process.
Boards were prefinished so once they were installed, the process was complete.
